Why Donate?

Your donation to the Chicago Defender Charities will help support programs that empower underprivileged and under-resourced African American and Hispanic American youth in urban areas. Your contribution will help us provide these young people with opportunities to learn and grow in a positive and safe environment. This helps ensure that they have the tools to become productive citizens and give back to their communities. The need for these programs is amplified by a lack of opportunities leading to a rise in crime and violence among youth, and still lingering effects of COVID-19. The Bud Billiken® Parade, the Performing Arts League (PAL), Master Classes, and our other programs are an excellent way to make a lasting impact on the lives of our youth and bring the community together. Your donation will support this endeavor by helping us to fill the gap left by the lack of positive experiences for our youth and the absence of their pre-pandemic activities.
